Micro-organisms, the enemies of façades / pavings / roofs

All buildings are exposed on a daily basis to various climatic hazards such as wind, water and sun. These elements help to create an environment that is particularly conducive to the growth of algae and lichens. These micro-organisms will then develop on the various materials present on the outside of structures such as facades, roofs or terrace pavings. Little by little, these biological agents will deteriorate the materials and cause aesthetic problems. So it’s important to look after the outside of your home properly to limit the damage.

Why treat façades, roofs and pavings with fungicides-algicides?

Facades/roofs/pavings need to be well protected to prevent the appearance of algae and lichens or to eradicate their presence. To get rid of these micro-organisms, there are numerous cleaning and treatment products available to protect buildings, whatever the type of material being treated: stone, slate, tile, concrete, rendering, thatch, paint, cement.
These products will attack algae and lichen to restore your buildings to their original appearance.

Fungicide and algicide treatments offered by the Groupe Berkem

To treat the appearance of algae and lichen, Groupe Berkem has developed two ranges of fungicides and algicides for private and professional customers: the SARPAP range and the Xilix range.

The SARPAP range for retailers

The SARPAP range includes both preventive and curative fungicide products for the general public and professionals. This range comprises 4 products:

• Sarpamust pro: this product is designed to protect masonry against the appearance of algae and lichen. The product is ready-to-use in an aqueous phase.
• Sarpamust concentrate: this product is designed to eliminate micro-organisms on all types of hard outdoor surfaces. The product must be diluted with water before use.
• Sarpamust D/T: this product protects and cleans biological agents present on roofs and pavings. It is ready-to-use and water-based.
• Sarpamust F: this product is used exclusively on rendered, painted or stone façades. It protects against algae and lichen and is ready to use straight away.

The Xilix range for professionals

This Xilix fungicide range is only available to professionals. Particularly effective, it provides long-term protection against algae and lichen for building facades, roofs and pavings:

• Xilix AF-C : This professional algicide can be applied to all types of surface. It is a concentrated product that must be diluted in water before use.
• Xilix AF PAE PRO : This fungicidal product is designed exclusively for protecting painted render or stone façades. The product is ready to use with a brush, roller or sprayer.
• Xilix AF-PAE : This product is designed exclusively for protecting and cleaning roofs made of tiles, slate, thatch, slate or concrete. It is ready-to-use in a water-based phase.
• Xilix AF GEL PRO : This product is applied to masonry to protect it from moss and lichen. It is ready-to-use and formulated in a water-based phase.
