Press release
06.05.2026

Groupe Berkem launches OPSeed75, a grape seed–based solution designed to reduce copper use in the fight against downy mildew, now available for farmers and winegrowers across Europe.
This launch comes in a European context of reducing copper inputs and evolving crop‑protection practices.

An innovation backed by 50 years of plant‑based expertise

  •  OPSeed75, a concentrated extract containing 75% OPC (oligo‑proanthocyanidins), is produced through a standardized industrial process.
  • It is a basic substance approved at the European level (Implementing Regulation (EU) 2025/96) for its fungicidal effect, demonstrated during trials conducted in France on organic vineyards.
  • Its high OPC concentration ensures regular and reliable performance in the field.

A French, traceable and controlled solution

  • Manufactured in France, at Groupe Berkem’s plant in Dordogne.
  • Raw materials sourced from French grape seeds, selected according to strict specifications ensuring quality and traceability.

Objective: maintaining crop protection while reducing copper doses

  • According to Olivier Fahy, Chairman and CEO of Groupe Berkem:

“Faced with the reduction of plant protection products and restrictions on copper use, we have developed OPSeed75. This solution, compatible with copper, helps maintain crop protection while reducing applied doses. It is now directly available to farmers across Europe,”
